Visit us at the Meridian Farmers Market during the summer or any of the other retail stores that carry our lavender line. See Sixteen Sprigs North for more information, hours of operation and addresses. We can provide tours if you book in advance. You won’t want to miss the purple haze and the heavenly scent wafting down our lavender hill. At the demonstration garden in Lansing we host open farm days during this time. Lavender is in bloom in Michigan from mid-June to late July. At Sixteen Sprigs, we grow several varieties of lavender and offer “U-Pick” during the blooming season. Currently, we focus on producing both Angustifolia lavenders and lavandins specifically suited to the unique sandy, loamy soils and cold climate of our Great Lakes region. Our fascination with this legendary crop continues to grow with additional plantings each spring as we find new ways to share the gospel of lavender with others. We are a small operation – less than 1300 plants – but we are still dreaming of fields bathed in all manner of blues, purples, and periwinkles. Lavender farming enables us to pursue our passion of bringing beauty into the world and preserving our rural and agricultural heritage. The garden is only a few minutes from Michigan State University and a stone’s throw from the state capitol. We have two locations – our primary production plot is our new farm in Alma, Michigan and we also have a demonstration garden right downtown Lansing. We are a small lavender farm located in the heart of Michigan.
